4 D - 4 Days / 3 Nights - The Treasure of three Rivers (joint tour)

A unique opportunity to explore Thailand's rural area in the Central Plain on three beautiful rivers to meet with local people in a world far removed from the usual tourist haunts and witnesses their typical handicrafts making occupations. The program includes unique accommodation --- on the Thanatharee rice barge for exploring charming sites of villages along a small river (Maenam Noi), at the Country Lake Nature Lodge located amidst a forest in the rural area of peaceful Uthai Thani combined with a cruise along Sakaekrang river and at the River Kwai Jungle Rafts on a raft house, which provides a good blend of natural surroundings of Kwai Noi river.


Day 1. Bangkok - Maenam Noi (L/D)

Morning transfer from your hotel in Bangkok to Pinklao Pier to board the "Thanatharee" rice barge and depart Bangkok. Arrive Ko Kred, an island in the middle of the Chao Phraya River. Explore the Mon pottery making village on the island. Depart to Samkok with lunch served on the way. Arrive at the lively Pathum Thani market, where varieties of fresh meat, vegetables and various local goods are sold. We also make a stop at Wat Pailom, well known as a winter nesting ground of the Asian Openbill Stork, which migrates from Northern India and Siberia. Depart Wat Pailom and head up river to the unspoilt Mae Nam Noi, a small branch of the main Chao Phraya River. The cruise passes through rich agricultural areas dotted with small towns and villages where life moves at a slower and more gentle pace. With bicycles on board frequent stops are made along the way to explore the countryside and observe the way of life and culture of the rural Thai people. There will be opportunities to see the traditional handicrafts still produced in these areas and meet with the local people, in a world far removed from the usual tourist haunts. Arrive at Wat Chang Noi, tie up for the night and enjoy dinner on board.


On board Thanatharee. Sleeping facilities in the barge is air-conditioned dormitory type for maximum 12 persons (the two sides are separated by a fabric curtain). One common bath room and one toilet are located in the main deck. Another one toilet on the upper deck. Clients should bring their own personnel toiletries (towel and soap are provided).


Day 2. Maenam Noi - Sakaekrang River - Uthai Thani (B/L/D)

After an early breakfast and the opportunity to give food to the monks on their morning alms round, explore the villagers' day-to-day activities and continue the cruise to the meeting point where a minibus is waiting to transfer to Uthai Thani. Before arrival at the Uthai Thani town, visit the temple Wat Tasung and the amazing crystal ball, the golden hall and fish sanctuary then board the converted rice barge "Kirinava" to cruise along Sakaekrang River to explore the traditional house boats of local people and the serene nature along the riverbank. After the cruise visit the lively local evening market and Wat Sangkat Ratana Khiri for bird-eye-view of the city then transfer to Country Lake Nature Lodge for overnight. A Thai cooking demonstration can be arranged if time permits.


At Country Lake Nature Lodge, all bungalows are air-conditioned with attached hot-cold shower and toilet.


Day 3. Uthai Thani - Kanchanaburi - Kwai Noi River (B/L/D)

At leisure in the morning to enjoy the natural surroundings of the resort and it's activities available such as birding, biking or kayaking in the lake. Then transfer to Kanchanaburi with various stops enroute including Ban Kok Mor weaving village, the amazing Hub Pa Tard valley and perhaps, school or pineapple plantation (depends on season). Arrive at the boat pier in Kanchanaburi late afternoon, then transfer to the Jungle Raft for overnight. End up the day with the traditional ethnic Mon dances after dinner.



At River Kwai Jungle Rafts. Jungle Raft is a raft bamboo house on the bank of Kwai Noi River, very close to a Mon minority village. No electricity provided and oil lamps are the only means of illumination at night.

Rooms are basic with attached shower.



Day 4. Kwai Noi River - Bangkok (B/L)

After breakfast, we visit the nearby Mon Village to see their way of living. After lunch cruise through the scenic jungle view of Kwai Noi River to Pak Saeng and a joint transfer to your hotel in Bangkok.


The activities are subject to change without prior notice due to local conditions.


The maximum of participants is 12 persons.


The cruise and tour includes tours and transfers by air-conditioned minivan as indicated in the itinerary, full board, the service of local English-speaking guide, admission fees where applicable and 3 nights unique accommodation. The cruise and tour does not include any beverages.
